Tropical World Nursery of Boynton Beach Florida is known for rare and unusual plants. The 17 ½ acre facilities is packed full of orchids, bromeliads, anthuriums, aroids, bananas, cactus, succulents, ferns, euphorbias, gingers, heliconias, palms, hoyas, crotons, crown of thorns, hanging baskets, and many other genera in hundreds of varieties. We have over 6000 varieties in total.
Our nature related gift and book shop is housed in a new Lindal Cedar Home. There you will find very unusual clocks, including Black Forest Cuckoo, Timecracker , and Tricracker clocks. Fossils, including beautiful one-of-a-kind trilobite plates, and collectibles including Harmony Kingdom, Zampiva, Christmas Clothtique, Rinconada, December Diamonds, Sandicast, and Katherine’s Collection to name a few are also in the gift shop.
Nostalgic items, unusual toys including Judaic pet toys, furniture, framed butterflies and insects as well as tropical nature related ethnic items can also be found in the gift shop. Our library features extensive gardening and nature books particularly for our area. Some travel books for tropical destinations are also being stocked. The outside pottery area has a vast assortment of pots, fountains and yard art.
Graduate biologists/horticulturists are on staff. We have been in Boynton Beach since 1972 moving from Oklahoma and Ohio.
Tropical World de las Flores near Fortin de las Flores, Veracruz, Mexico is a 6 hectare facility complete with 8 cabins and a beautiful view of North America’s third highest Mountain (actually a
volcano!), Mt. Orizaba. Temperatures here are 60 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit year round. The nursery here supplements our Florida facilities as well as providing plant material for the locals. We conduct eco-tours of the area including the states of Chiapas and Oaxaca several times a year.
